On the Wikis: week of September 2

The Greenwich School Wiki
  • Word of the Week is a new addition to the front page. Each week a new vocabulary word will appear, classes and students are encouraged to follow the link to share how they might use this word in a sentence. Creativity is encouraged!
  • Did you know that September is International Square Dancing Month? Enjoy a short demonstration of square dancing courtesy of Patty Shukla's song, Do-Se-Do Square Dance.
  • Expanded access to Pebble Go is now available on the Research page, as well as the early elementary grade level pages.
  • All grades will benefit from our new subscription to EBSCO K-8 Ebook Collection (also on the Research page). Find great informational texts, stories, and professional reads.

  • I have challenged myself to read 100 books this school year, and not just picture books! This week's front page asks students to suggest great books to read.
  • Complementing our print collection is a new subscription to EBSCO K-8 Ebook Collection which can be found on the Digital Resources page. Students (and teachers!) will appreciate the ability to access great information sources from the convenience of any internet connected device.
  • Flocabulary! Accessed from the Digital Resources page, students may access the songs and videos they see in class to help them in their studies.
  • The Digital Citizenship page has been reorganized and updated. On this page you and your students will find important information regarding online etiquette, profile pictures, passwords, and school rules regarding technology.
  • The Tutorials and Tools page has added a new Google Apps for Education section. Information on this page is student focused, but teachers may also benefit.
