A Student's Ode to Typing

I spent a lot of time with 3rd and 4th grade this year working on keyboarding skills. Our end goal was to be able to think more about what we want to say, and less about which keys we need to press on the keyboard. We spent a lot of time practicing in Typing Club, online game sites, and Google Drive. There was a lot of complaining about the boxes that hide hands and reduce peeking. There was just the right amount of frustration as students were a point or second away from meeting a goal. Their hard work paid off: those who struggled to type their name in September are now able to type conversations and essays with ease. One 3rd grade student was inspired to write a poem:

Thank you for sharing, Tommy!
